My name is William Gant. I’m 51 years old. I’ve lived in different countries, working in my life and grew up in different countries as well. A couple of years ago, I started to find that my hearing was deteriorating.
For some reason, I was starting to get quite a bit of ringing in my ears, particularly in the left ear, and it just seemed like it was just tinnitus. I can’t explain to this day why my hearing just deteriorated like that. It just seemed like a real mystery to me. I was curious, and I wanted to try different types of hearing devices to see what might help me and also I’m a bit of an audiophile. I like listening to music and audiobooks. I had Jabras, I had JBLs, I had Westones. I didn’t quite find the right type of earbud, that ticked all the boxes.
Sound Therapy for Tinnitus
That was something that was a pleasant surprise when I discovered the IQbuds 2 Max, that it checked all those boxes. It also brought an extra feature which was customizing to my particular hearing. When I used the Ear ID, it identified quite accurately that there was a bit of diminished hearing in my left ear in particular, that was not too different from when I actually had my audiograms. With the World mode on. there is a white noise that’s generated. That white noise did help to mask that ringing.
Music and TV
The first time I listened to just a random song on Amazon Music, I was just blown away at how deep the sound went. The noise canceling, that’s just a fantastic thing. It really is its great. You just tap the button World Off, and then it just goes silent. It’s just so nice.
When I’m cooking my kids are watching TV often too loud, it doesn’t bother me at all I don’t hear it. I’ve started using the max for my running as well, I run that running track that goes parallel to the freeway. I can actually still continue to listen to to my audiobook without any problem.
This is a great everyday type of earbud, whether I’m cooking, I’m doing the gardening if I’m going running outdoors. To have earbuds that are actually tailored to me is fantastic. It’s become part of me, I wear this every day.
