KEY EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENT – NEW YORK BASED GLOBAL VP OF SALES

Nuheara is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Bruce Borenstein as Global Vice President of Sales. New York based, Borenstein has over 30 years of sales leadership experience in the global consumer electronics industry, combined with a successful track record of launching innovative consumer brands including Bluetooth headsets.
Since 2011, Borenstein has served as President and CEO of AfterShokz, a highly innovative and successful consumer Bluetooth headphone company that utilizes bone conduction technology. In this capacity, Borenstein built a global presence for the AfterShokz brand in world leading consumer electronics retailers such as Best Buy, Brookstone, Amazon and other leading online and bricks & mortar retailers.
Prior to AfterShokz, Borenstein was Executive Vice President of The Neat Company, where he was responsible for global sales and a member of the company’s operating committee. Other appointments have included:
- Principal and Sales Practice Leader at North Riverside Partners, a consulting firm specializing in assisting companies gain market entry into the consumer electronics and technology channel,
- Executive Vice President & Founder at Digital Innovations, the manufacturer of SkipDoctor CD & DVD repair device, and
- President of Paston-Hunter Company, a manufacturer’s representative firm.

Borenstein also serves as a board member of the Accessories Division of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). He is also a trustee of the CTA Foundation Board. He is a past winner of CTA’s Innovation Entrepreneur Award as Small Business Executive of the Year. He has been a featured speaker and panelist at a variety of industry functions.

He is a seasoned and very well connected consumer electronics sales executive who, having done it many times before, can make an immediate contribution to Nuheara’s global retail push.”
The addition of Borenstein’s retail experience to the senior management team comes at an opportune time for Nuheara’s retail sales aspirations. According to The Retail Tracking Service report from independent industry analysts the NPD Group, Bluetooth headphone revenue overtook non-Bluetooth for the first time in June 2016, accounting for 54 percent of headphone dollar sales and 17 per cent of unit sales in the U.S. While the overall headphone category saw a 7 percent year-over-year increase in dollar sales for the first half of 2016, Bluetooth headphones saw 42 percent year-over-year increase in dollar sales for the first half of the year.
