June 21st is International Day of Yoga. Declared unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in 2015, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi originally proposed the idea to the UNGA.
The subsequent U.N. resolution decreed that yoga “provides a holistic approach to health and well-being.” Furthermore, the resolution noted that more widespread adoption of yoga would be beneficial for the health of the world population.
As part of the celebrations, millions of yoga enthusiasts worldwide are expected to take part in gatherings worldwide. From India, to Australia, to Texas, groups will congregate to celebrate yoga’s holistic approach to health and well-being.

Finding Sacred Spaces in a Noisy World
Yoga and meditation have a symbiotic relationship. Writing about the purpose of yoga, David Surrenda, the founding dean of the Graduate School of Holistic Studies at John F. Kennedy University in California:
“The original context of yoga was spiritual development practices to train the body and mind to self observe and become aware of their own nature.”
When using yoga and meditation to try to truly observe one’s self, it is hard for many to keep focus in a world of increasing noise pollution. For users of IQbuds2 MAX, muting the audio of a distracting physical world can be achieved with a single tap touch.
World On, World Off
Of all the innovative features found in IQbuds2 MAX, perhaps the most popular is the ability to toggle the sounds of the surrounding world on or off with the tap of a button. As reported by tech writer Loz Blain for New Atlas :
“Walking along with a podcast on and the world off sounds great, but then when we want to cross the street, we just tap the right ear to bring the world back in.”
When practicing yoga or meditation, quieting the chatter of one’s mind is hugely important. Having the ability to seamlessly turn the world off, turn it up, or blend it with one’s digital audio helps enable the necessary mental focus.
“With Nuheara’s earbuds, it’s so easy to find that happy place away from the noise of the city and just focus on my breath and poses. They help me feel more comfortable and less stressed.” – Emily Tala, Certified Personal Trainer, Yoga Instructor, & Nutritionist
Celebrate International Day of Yoga
According to the United Nations website, the International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practising yoga
In an increasingly chaotic and noisy world, IQbuds2 MAX can help your mind quiet and your body calm. And, if you’re not inclined to assume yoga poses or meditate in the park, Stewart Snyder of Condition the Mind suggests 4 Easy Ways to Celebrate International Yoga Day :
- When you see someone that needs help, walk up and help them.
- Stop before a knee-jerk reaction and take 1 minute to consider why this thing bothers you.
- Spend 15 minutes in silence, ignoring your thoughts and creating a blank space in your mind.
- Treat someone as if they’re a beautiful manifestation/creation of God.
Happy National Yoga Day to All! Here’s to improving our hearing and overall health worldwide.
